Is it Halloween yet?

I’ve mentioned before that Fall is my favorite season. That is in great part to Halloween (it’s not all about K-State Football). I think it’s great fun and have very fond memories of my childhood Halloween festivities – hours of trick or treating followed by candy sorting and swapping with friends. One year myself and my gal pals dressed as the Pink Ladies from the movie Grease and I was Frenchie. Another year Megan and I dressed as bums, getting our costumes from the Salvation Army. As I got into junior high I remember walking the streets of Fairbury soaping cars and holding hands with a boy. Good times.

Well, to help pass on the love of the holiday to Connor we spent much of the past few days at Halloween celebrations and events. Quite frankly, it feels like I’ve celebrated Halloween 4 times and it’s not even the 31st yet. But, at least we’ll get all the good out of the $20 Spiderman costume as possible. The sleeve is already stained with black paint from the face paint at the Montessori School Carnival and the pants are covered with frosting from cookie decorating. Fortunately, at Trick or Treat Street we narrowly escaped it being covered in urine (it was seconds people).

For the actual day, we are trick or treating with some neighbor friends and their 3 kids around the block, followed by passing out candy at our house.

I hope that you all get a lot more treats than you do tricks. And, don’t be the jerk that passes out healthy snacks or (Goddess forbid) toothbrushes or next year you’ll find your tree covered in toilet paper. And quite frankly, you’ll deserve it.

Life is good when your parents let you be Spiderman with biceps.
